Education
We are committed to elevating the community’s understanding of diabetes and foot complications and how to prevent amputations. We have several educational opportunities available.
Medical Students
Medical students and podiatric medical students from accredited schools are welcome to set up an elective rotation in limb salvage at our center. Please contact Nicole Garrett at ngarrett@primehealthcare.com for current requirements for students and to schedule a time.
Residents
Medical, Surgical, and Podiatric Residents with California licenses are encouraged to schedule 1 to 3 month rotation in our center. Residents must have a California license in order to take part in treating patients and assisting at surgery. Please contact Nicole Garrett at ngarrett@primehealthcare.com for the current requirements for residents and to schedule a rotation.
Fellows
We offer a 1 year fellowship in limb salvage which encompasses the medical and surgical treatment of limbs at risk for amputation. Our fellowship is sponsored, in part, by industry and by Prime Healthcare. Our fellows have full privileges in the hospital, but are supervised by more senior surgeons. Fellows gain the confidence and judgment necessary to treat this high-risk population. Fellows gain administrative experience and will be ready to lead their own unit upon completion. Our fellowship started in 2012 and we’ve placed 100% of our fellows after completion. To apply for the fellowship, please contact Dr. Lee Rogers at Dr.Lee.Rogers@gmail.com.
Visiting Clinicians
For clinicians already in practice, we are happy to host you for a day or two in our center. Whether you are looking to hone your clinical skills or observe a high functioning unit in action, the Amputation Prevention Center® is a good opportunity for you. Please contact Dr. Lee Rogers at Dr.Lee.Rogers@gmail.com.
International Educational Opportunities
Clinicians and students from outside the United States are invited to observe our center at work. Contact Dr. Lee Rogers at Dr.Lee.Rogers@gmail.com for further information.
